Welcome to the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences ATC home page!
UND’s ATC program is incorporated into the best-known, most advanced aviation curriculum on any university campus in the world. The ATC curriculum is designed to graduate students ready for assignment with the FAA.
UND Aerospace offers more advanced ATC facilities than any other university. The ATC simulation lab features Virtual Controller radar simulators, developed and marketed by UND Aerospace to meet rigorous training requirements. Students receive classroom training from outstanding faculty with actual ATC experience.
Additionally, with UND Aerospace Foundation’s purchase of a 225° and 360° 3D tower simulators and a 32 position radar simulator, the ATC program now has the complete package for all training needs. We can have an aircraft depart one of our airports, contact departure, and even proceed into the enroute environment in one completely integrated system! The simulators boast incredibly lifelike visuals, unmatched voice recognition, and comprehensive weather and environmental sound effects. This cutting edge technology makes it possible for students to meet the challenge of excelling in their field.
